Welcome Home Brody!

Thanks for the gifts!
Doing time and Covenant Childrens Hospital
It will take more than this to slow me down
Hangin' out at the crib
That morphine makes me fell like I'm floating
Getting a few minutes of sleep before he gets poked again

Brody was finally able to come home Tuesday after 9 days in the hospital. We took him to the ER with a swollen ankle, and after x-rays, bloodwork, and an MRI, they found an infection in his right ankle joint. He had 3 surgeries over 6 days to drain and clean his ankle. He is home at last and he is doing well. He is still on antibiotics for the next 4 weeks and the incisions on his ankle will take time to heal. At least now he will have a good excuse for not walking, and he'll have some good battle scars to show off. It amazes me how brave and tough our little man is. We want to thank everybody for their help, support and prayers during the last few weeks. We are so happy to finally have him home!

Happy Birthday

Posted by Picasa

I had these pictures taken on Brody's birthday and I am just now getting around to posting them. It was so much fun to watch him make a big mess with the cake. Once he tasted the cake, it was all over. He loved it! If you click on the picture, you can see the little ones better.

It's Just A Phase... I Hope!

Anyone who has spent any time around Colton, knows that he is all boy. He loves motorcycles and 4-wheelers, he likes to pretend to be a monster or a dinosaur, and he growls most of what he says. He's rough and tough. But since Brody is still too little to play with, he plays with Jesslyn most of the time, which involves playing dress up, painting fingernails, and lots of girly things. (He clearly has an obsession with shoes) I'm not complaining about it, because it won't be long before my boys will be doing things like playing football in the house, tackling eachother, collecting reptiles, and climbing trees. I guess Tysen turned out okay, even though "the gills" wouldn't let him and his pink purse play with them.

Peek-A-Boo

Colton had so much fun taking these pictures! He looks sweet, but he was actually growling at the photographer. He's my little monster.

Jesslyn's First Day of School

Jesslyn had a great first week of school. She loves her teacher and has some of her kindergarten friends in her class. The first day was an emotional day for me. I dropped her off and didn't want to leave. I was looking for an excuse to stay for a few more minutes until I knew she was going to be okay. I went home and wondered all day what she was doing at that moment. I waited for 3 o'clock to roll around, only to pick her up and have her tell me she didn't even think about me because she was having too much fun! Needless to say, it was a lot harder on me than it was on her.

Peach Pickin'

I heard about a place to pick your own peaches, so I called Naticia and we loaded up the kids. Nevermind the fact that it was 102 degrees that day and it was naptime for the babies, we were determined to get some peaches and some cute pictures. Grandma Carlene came along and we picked a total of 14 lbs of yummy peaches. That night we had a fish fry with all the fish Tysen and my family caught (I outfished him the night I went with him) , and we also made peach cobbler. It was delicous.

Colton's 2nd Birthday

Here are some pictures from Colton's 2nd birthday party. It was so much fun this year because he actually wanted certain things for his birthday. We got him a bike of his own. Now he doesn't have to ride the pink Barbie one anymore. He is OBSESSED with 4-wheelers right now, so we had a cake made to look just like his. It was amazing!
